I wanted to let HRM Today readers know about the 11th Annual Talent Management Summit being held in Las Vegas by Human Resources IQ on October 20-23 and a special discount you all can get just for reading this blog. Very exciting, I know. I was trying to get them to commit to maybe some trick ponies or some of those guys that juggle flaming bowling balls because I heard those are a big hit but I think they are sticking to stuff that is actually useful to HR professionals.
I just wanted to highlight a few things that this conference has to offer:
I am bummed I can’t go because I do like going to Vegas (I was just there a couple weeks ago) but Human Resources IQ are the good guys and they’ve done ten of these things so I think they might know a thing or two. Human Resource IQ is around for the same reason HRM Today is around: HR people helping other HR people navigate the changing environment. When I was talking to their marketing manager, it seems like they really want to attract people who understand the online aspect of our industry. They are reaching out to a lot of bloggers to have them attend this event (via discounts and even complimentary press passes) and I told them I’d be happy to spread the word (even if I can’t go).
It gets even better. If you use the promo code TMHRM when you sign up, you’ll get a 15% discount just like that. Seriously! Then you can work on getting the upgraded suite at the Venetian. Don’t get your hopes up on that though.

And if you go you’ll be joining some cool people, like Laurie Ruettimann and HR Wench. Oh, and I’ll be there too in case you were interested.

I look forward to both speaking at–and attending this conference. My session will be on a new study we conducted on leadership trend in 15 different countries looking at practices around succession, development, handling of international leaders, etc. We involved over 5,000 organizations.
More important, I am looking forward to hearing and sharing from all of you on leadership pipeline practices at your organizations.
